The Auditor-Treasurer is the chief financial officer of the county, the auditor oversees all fiscal action, ensuring that funds are used properly. The auditor's office handles all aspects of county payroll, related reports, election process, mill levies and maintenance of owners names and addresses for all property. The auditor is secretary for the county commissioners, sechedules meetings, prepares agendas and takes minutes at commission meetings. Preparation and collection of taxes, keeping track of all property taxes, including delinquency and foreclosures, provide information to all lending institutions, realtor companies, state agencies throughout the year and is investor for the county.

 Additional duties may include maintaining inventory of fixed assets, administering insurance coverage for all county property, coordinating licenses and fees, such as beer and liquor licenses, bingo and raffle permits, hunting and fishing licenses and oversize/overweight permits for county roads.
